High-force electrical cable cutting
Hydraulic force is only one part of cable-cutter selection. Match the cutting head and blade to the cable material, construction and capacity before comparing remote-pump and battery-hydraulic systems.

Material → cable construction → size/capacity → access → tool/jaw → blade → manufacturer limits. A capacity for soft copper/aluminum does not automatically apply to ACSR, guy wire, steel armor or another cable construction.

Hydraulic force makes large cable cutting faster and more repeatable, but it does not make every hydraulic head suitable for every cable. The cutting head and blade still determine whether the system is for soft copper/aluminum, ACSR/hard metal or a particular underground-cable construction.

Greenlee's current 750 page publishes an 11-ton hydraulic cutter with a 1-15/16-inch jaw opening and 1000 kcmil copper/aluminum capacity. It also identifies replacement part 17459 as the cutter blade and 746C as the ram unit. That makes the 750 a good example of a serviceable hydraulic system where the exact head and replacement parts can be verified rather than guessed.
Look for the exact head/tool model and published material capacity. Remote head, pump package, battery tool and bare replacement head listings can look similar in search results but represent very different purchases.
The 2672 is a compact 6-ton FORCE LOGIC cable-cutting platform for large copper/aluminum conductors using the 49-16-2772 jaw. The 2776 is a 9-ton 3-inch underground cable cutter published for up to 1500 MCM copper 15 kV cable. Treat the application language as part of the specification, not marketing text that can be discarded once you see the force number.
ACSR, guy strand and steel-containing cable can damage a soft-metal blade or produce an unsafe cut if the head is not designed for it. Use a manufacturer-documented ACSR/hard-metal system such as the Greenlee ESG45LX or Milwaukee's ACSR cutting-jaw path rather than applying a Cu/Al hydraulic rating by diameter alone.
With a remote cutter, the cutting head is only one part of the system. The pump, ram, hose/coupler arrangement and operating instructions belong to the same technical chain. A hydraulic fitting that connects physically is not enough reason to mix components from different systems. Greenlee's 750E975 ordering configuration is useful because it identifies the cable cutter, ram and electric pump as one documented package rather than leaving the power source ambiguous.
For a used remote cutter, identify the exact head and ram before shopping for a pump or replacement blade. For a battery-hydraulic cutter, identify the bare tool versus kit contents, battery platform and installed jaw. Those checks prevent a common marketplace problem: buying a high-value “cable cutter” listing that is actually only a head, jaw or power unit.

For serviceable systems, record the blade and ram catalog numbers with the tool. Greenlee's 750 page, for example, identifies both the 17459 cutter blade and 746C ram unit.
A remote pump can keep the cutting head simpler, while an integrated battery-hydraulic tool improves mobility. Neither changes the material limit published for the head/blade.

Some are. Milwaukee's M18 FORCE LOGIC 2672 uses a 6-ton hydraulic pump, while other cordless cutters such as Milwaukee's M12 2472 use a powered ratcheting mechanism rather than the same hydraulic architecture.
Not unless the manufacturer rates the installed head/jaw for ACSR. Steel-reinforced ACSR requires a hard-metal/ACSR-rated cutting path.
A remote hydraulic cutter uses a separate pump connected to the cutting head; a battery-hydraulic tool integrates the power source, pump and head into a handheld system. Both still require the correct head/blade for the material.
